Story on Mubahila

graphical representation of the event of Mubahila. Mubahila is the name of an event that took place around 632 CE when the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. attempted to resolve a theological dispute with Christians.

The event

The Prophet invited the Christians of Najran to a mubahalah. He was accompanied by his daughter, Fatima, her husband, Ali, and their sons, Hassan and Husayn.

The significance

The event is considered important because it shows the closeness of the Prophet to his family, the Ahlul Bayt, and to Allah. After the event, Ali was called the “Soul of the Prophet”
